"I not sure Mom"

Let's chat about my sweet Aidan.  I'm not sure where he is lately, but a new Aidan has entered the picture.  This Aidan's new favorite phrase is "I not sure Mom."  For example, "Aidan, did you just push Brody?"  "I not sure Mom."  "Aidan, do you have a poopy diaper?"  "I not sure Mom."  Well based on the strained look on your face and the smell in the room.....I am.  I am sure.  "Aidan, did you hear me ask you to bring me your shoes 5 times?"  "I not sure Mom."  He knows what he's doing........
Another new one, is "don't push me."  If I gently put my hand on his back to move him along, he will reply with a strong "how dare you" tone.... "don't push me Mom."  Oh Aidan, my sweet sweet boy, you will know if I push you.....trust me.  At the playground, everyone is "kid."  It doesn't matter if I tell him a child's name 800 times....it is still "kid."  "Don't do that kid."  "No, kid, it's my turn."  "No kid, don't talk to me like that."  He told Max he had had it with him the other day......if anyone finds my original sweet other Aidan, please send him home.....I miss him, although, I would never let him know this, but this new guy is pretty funny.

Okay, then there's Max.  Max is in a "mood" just about every day.  His new favorite thing is to disagree with every single thing I say.  If I ask him if he wants chicken for dinner, he suddenly doesn't like chicken....but if I give him something else, he has a fit because it's not chicken.  I don't even know why I try to make dinner anymore.  I made chicken and dumplings the other day for dinner.  Aidan and Brody ate it up so they got to have a popsicle for dessert.  Popsicles are Max's favorite and I was hoping it was enough of an incentive to get him to eat the chicken.  So as he's watching his brothers enjoy their popsicle, you can tell he is trying to think of a masterful plan to get his conniving little hands on a popsicle too.  He picks up a shred....SHRED of chicken on his fork, puts it in his mouth and with a look on his face of complete disgust, manages to gag out a few words...."mmmmm, gag, it's reaaaallllyyy good Mom.....mmm, gag again....soooo good."  After he chokes it down.... while still  gagging, he says "Whoa, that was a really big bite Mom, ok time for a popsicle now!"  Nice try buddy.  When I told him he needed to eat a few more bites of chicken, he waved the white flag and asked to get down.

Brody is 16 months going on 5 years.  He literally thinks he is entitled to everything the boys get and can do everything the boys do.  He is going to give me gray hair.  He is learning words like crazy.....like "sit down," "no no," "uh uh," (while shaking his head no)....basically all the things he hears me say all day long.   He is starting to stick up for himself with Max and Aidan...which they hate.    If Max hits him...and ends up in timeout.....Brody will go over to him, swing at him, and run......and also end up getting in trouble....but he loves it and obviously thinks getting into trouble is worth swinging at Max.

On a side note, Brody and I did some fall clothes shopping for all the boys today while Max and Aidan were at "school."  (Mom's Day Out)  I purchased some Lightening Mcqueen underwear to get the conversation started about potty training.  Stay tuned for that.......I can only imagine the stories I will have once we get that party started this winter.

Thanks for checking in!!!!!
